The ambiance is low-key and more on the fast-casual side, but it’s lively and bustling in a fun way. Another bonus is the location: there are plenty of shops around, so it’s perfect for a walk right after your meal. Overall, a great choice if you want high-quality sushi without the formality.”

“I can see why this is recommended by the MICHELIN Guide. Sushi Yasu Tanaka is located in MIA Market in Miami's Design District. They were not very busy when I went for an early light lunch on a Sunday. I had the chopped hamachi and negi sauce hand roll, one piece of the salmon nigiri and one piece of the akami sashimi. Food was served very quickly after I ordered. I could not fault it. I have been to Japan and this was top-quality sushi. Freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Highly recommend.”

“Holy cow THE FISH WAS AMAZING - we had to order another plate of nigiri! Most memorable nigiri were the scallop and fatty tuna for me. Despite its simplicity, quality is just out of this world Place was a little hard to find at first, we didn't realize it was inside the food court (out of towners here). But loved that the set up was food court style, this made it easy for us to find seats (which are really cute btw!) and also try other things like coffee after! I enjoyed this place more than most places in NYC honestly, will recommend to anyone visiting!”

“I've frequented Jaffa several times at the St. Roch Market. In my numerous visits, I've never been disappointed. The hummus is fantastic. Thick but creamy texture, dusted with spices and when paired with their crisp cumin-seasoned Falafel, Israeli salad and tahini, a perfect lunch or dinner. Roast cauliflower is beautifully plated and quite exceptionally tasty, slathered with yogurt. Deconstructed babaganoush with roast chickpeas is both a delicious and healthy snack. Service is fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Portions are quite large - bring a dining companion!”

“I am always craving Chef Yasu's sushi, and admire his skills. As always, it was absolutely phenomenal. Each bite was unique in its taste, and each bite was something I didn't want to end. Do NOT sleep on this place. It's the best sushi you can find in Miami, and probably the best in the state. I'd highly recommend opting for the 10 piece omakase, and choosing a hand roll to indulge in additionally on the side. If you want some cocktails, wine, or beer to go with it then you can get them at the bar in the middle of the MIA Market food court. There are places that charge more for lesser quality and more mediocre flavors. You will not find any better place for sushi regarding price, quality, and taste.”

“It may look like your average Mediterranean cuisine, but Jaffa is anything but! It's located in the beautiful Miami Design District, inside of the St.Roch Market. I wandered in with a friend on a Friday evening and saw the collections of vendors and restaurant stalls that the market had to offer. However, Jaffa immediately called my attention not only because we were greeted by the friendly staff, but the incredible aroma of roasted cauliflower, falafel, and the spices just reminded of comfort food from back home. The restaurant was filling up quickly with a line of the customer but the staff still managed to assist every guest with a friendly welcoming attitude and deliver our food in manageable time. I ordered the falafel rice bowl (probably one of the BEST falafels in Miami!!) and my friend ordered the chicken shawarma rice bowl (the spices in the chicken could be smelled from afar). In addition, we shared a whole Roasted turmeric Cauliflower (which is a MUST try dish if you're stopping by) it comes with zaatar spiced tahini and their warm, delicious, fluffy pita bread. The Roasted turmeric cauliflower is such a great option for anyone, especially if you're vegan. Not only is beyond delicious but is such a healthy and satisfying dish (I could eat a whole head by myself!). When our bowls arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded. The falafels were nice and crispy, flavorful, and chewy. The toppings worked together beautifully. The spiced turmeric rice and tabouleh were packed with flavor, and the tahini had a great consistency and very smooth texture. My friend fell in love with their chicken shawarma. The chicken was packed with wonderful spices creating such a flavorful dish. Everything in their food was filled with wonderful taste and great presentation. By the end of the meal, we were already planning our next visit with a couple of more friends. With so many chef-centric food halls that the St.Roch Market has to offer, Jaffa is truly one of my favorite spots! This place is perfect for groups or a casual date night or any day you feel like taking a break from your busy life!”

“Exquisite, phenomenal, and mind-blowing are all words used to describe this place! I went over to HotLime after strolling around Miami design district because both my boyfriend and I were hungry and we came across Mia Market in the upper section of the stores and after visiting each section to see their menu options, HotLime caught our attention. Don't get me wrong, everything the other places offered sounded magnificent but HotLime's just did it for us! We came over to order our food, and since It was our first time visiting and we didn't know the menu, a very nice young lady helped and guided us through everything and all the questions we had. I'd also like to mention that my boyfriend struggles a bit with english so she went ahead and explained the menu to him in spanish as well which made him feel so comfortable! Now, the food, the food was absolutely delicious! I got the shorty tacos and my boyfriend got the chicken tacos, when I tell you I have never had tacos like these before! The tacos were soft and the pieces of rib were so juicy, The chicken tacos had a light pink sauce which made everything come together so perfectly and when I asked the young lady if I could add that sauce on my shorty tacos, she said yes and brought me some of the sauce. My boyfriend and I were so satisfied and fulfilled with not only the service we received but also the food and if you're wondering, yes the tacos look just like the pictures and taste even better too! If you're looking for a place to eat around the Miami area, I 100% recommend this spot!”

“The quality for the price is truly unbeatable. The service is fast, and the prices are more than fair at $60 for the 10 piece omakase and a handroll. Forget Omakai and all the others and come here. The restaurant is just a stall in a food hall (MIA Market), so it's easy to roll up with a group of any size--even by yourself!--or try other things if someone in your group doesn't want to commit to sushi. It's true that some of the ambiance that come with a traditional, intimate sushi restaurant is lost. You come here for a no-frills, food-forward meal, not sushi Disneyland. If sushi Disneyland is what you're looking for, Miami has plenty of other outstanding options like Shingo and Hiyakawa.”

“Sushi Yasu Tanaka is the place to go to when you are visiting MDD in Miami and want to try something authentic and fresh. I had friends visiting from Europe and it was an absolute hit for them and for me. We went for lunch and the staff was very welcoming and helpful with our orders. I had the bowl with half & half rice/salad, tuna, salmon … so delicious. For appetizer we had, sashimi and ceviche, if we could lick the plate we would 🤤 unfortunately, I didn’t take a picture of that. Definitely recommend this place, specially in the summer refreshing and light.”

“Food here was excellent. I got the omakase, salmon sushi, and ube soybean ice cream. The hand roll and omakase selection were fresh and fantastic with each fish having its unique texture and flavor highlighted. The salmon was excellent. Nice fatty and smooth cuts of salmon with a couple being charred to add some more layers of flavor. Ice cream was amazing. The complimentary flavors of ube and soybean was a great mix of umami, salty, and sweet. Atmosphere is an inconspicuous food hall which the main staff for this restaurant being the sushi chefs.”

“I'm originally from Israel , living in the states for a while now, finally found a place by a great spice chef, getting the flavors and taste of home cooking, from cauliflower to hummus, tehini, amba and many things i miss, i'm not religious but the meat is "kosher glat" as far as i saw on the menu. we enjoyed ourselves very much. and the dessert was just amazing. more then anything we expected. as i said, in the food market full of many types of options, that is a hidden pearl a must visit.”
